Yo, Sunday morning. I’m sitting with paper, toast and coffee, though these came at a price. I ran out of marmite (I can’t have toast without marmite – it’s a scientific impossibility) and had to battle my way through comedy wind and rain to make it to the corner shop. I just hope no-one saw me. I’m back to the comfort of my sofa now, but with the looming knowledge in my mind that I have to work later. I’m hoping it’ll be a quiet shift, after all who leaves the house at a time like this? (Mad people, with buggies, that’s who).

Not much else to report, other than the fact that I bought a giant union jack flag on my way home from work last night (I’m a sucker for anything remotely jubilee/olympics) and that I’m going to be a bridesmaid. Again! I’m something of an old hand. So I’m spending most of my time squealing every so often and trawling the web for hair ideas. I’ve only got 17 odd months to wait (and hit the gym). EXCITING.

Well, as you can see, I’ve had a little spruce up around here. (If you can’t see any changes, please press refresh! Something to do with the word CACHED means the changes don’t always show by themselves. Huh?) The boy’s even fiddled with the colours and the links and the archives and a few other things that have been bugging me for ages. I’m still not entirely happy and there’s a few things I’m not sure how to fix it, but I’m going to leave it in the boy’s capable hands. Hopefully it’ll all be ironed out soon and I’ll have a lovely new home!

I have also successfully added some new blogs to my blog roll, all by myself. My current favourites are: thank you, ok, 11.54, schorlemädchen, rose & crown, and sunken treasure. Take a look, why don’t you.

For now though, I’ve got a day off, with my friends ‘cold’ and ‘ear-ache’. We’re waiting for the postman to deliver our new amp so we can finally start spinning records again. Thing is, it’s also my staff night-out this evening; I’d love to say I’m going to stay at home eating grapes and drinking orange juice, but I know myself and that’s not likely to be the case. See you on the other side.

I read enough blogs daily to know that everyone has moments (days, weeks, even months) of despondency. You could certainly say that’s been me over the last couple of months. But now, for no particular reason that I can name, I feel as though I’ve just snapped back into blog-action. It’s not that I haven’t been doing anything, I just haven’t felt inclined to share it on here. But now I do. And such is life, I suppose. I’ve commissioned a new banner from the boy; nothing fancy, just a change to freshen this place up. And now? Why, some 1980s Chanel, of course. Start as I mean to go on and all that.

We got back from Berlin last night. It took us a couple of days to get our heads round the place, but once we did there was obviously no going back. It’s hard to think of all that life still going on over there, in all our favourite places, while we’re back here. I can’t wait to go back. Obviously there’ll be a more comprehensive post soon and an onslaught of photos, but for now work is calling. No rest for the wicked.

Much needed day off today. Went out for breakfast and then had a nosy round the shops. Obviously, it had to be the first day of half-term, or so I quickly realised. I therefore didn’t have the shops to myself like I’m used to which is clearly not on. I was, however, amused by the poor girl who was clearly making her first ever trip to the vintage shops, with bemused parents in tow (they were very vocal, she was very mortified). Anyway, I’m home and dry. I’ve descaled the coffee machine and done three lots of washing. Clean bed linen and jarmies for me tonight. Oh, and it was still daylight at five! Spring is mere moments away. Hoo-bloody-rah.

Weekend? Who knew. I’m working the whole thing while the boy plays with new computer parts. Rolling my eyes. I’m also still trying to action my new years resolutions. Yes, I’m aware it’s already mid-January, but what can I say, I’m something of a slow-starter. Must go, the gym is a’waiting. (And I’m rolling my eyes). I’ll be skinny and rich before you know it.

I worked from home today. I could certainly get used to that. You know, wake up whenever, get up/dressed, get the coffee machine on, blitz through what needs doing, then the rest of the day is mine/the world is an oyster/anything goes. Once I’d finished my work today, I went to town, had a bit of a saunter, bought some food for dinner, sauntered on home, tidied, ironed, cooked. And now I’m here, with or without a glass of wine (you decide), a sleepy boy in my midst (he gets up early for that thing they call work), with my headphones blasting me out a bit of the nineties. Lovely. Shame I’ve got to actually go to work tomorrow. Whoever thought of that.

I’ve been quite the lucky one and ended up with loads of time off over Christmas and New Year. While this is wonderful, it also means I haven’t really got my act back together yet. Now that January is upon us (I’m aware I’m five days late), I seriously need to save the pennies and lose the pounds (get it?). In less uncertain terms, I’m skint and tubby. This must be addressed, not least because I have a holiday to save and be skinny for. Oh and I also need to get my job-hunt on, again. It’s quite the juggling act.

As it stands, I’m off to an alright start. I’m eBaying my life away and have sorted some more work experience. But these two things alone will not be enough. Trust me though, it’s something I’m working on.

Happy new year, oh readers of mine! Of course, this year, I have made a resolution to keep on top of this blog in a far more comprehensive and dedicated manner than can be said for my recent efforts. I may or may not have said ~~exactly the same thing~~ something similar this time last year. But this time I mean it. I’ll be around so much you’ll get bored of me. Promise! On this note of anticipation, I’ll leave you. But tomorrow I’ll be back with 2011′s version of the phone-photos post.
