Yesterday I came home to my first ever Vogue in the post. Santa got me a subscription, you see. It was all very exciting and I dived straight into the Spring-soaked pages. I’ve gone for a suitably Spring like feel in the photo effect too (see below – my first look at Vogue: March 2012). Nevermind the fact that the weather has taken a turn for the cold. Oh and by the way, our holiday’s not long away now and I’m busy, busy, busy with work things that I’m yet to divulge on here. More later, perhaps. It’s all happening. That’s not to say that I’m not still stressed, of course. For example, my laptop is dying before my very eyes, just when I actually need it. Bring on Berlin, where laptops don’t matter, but cocktails do.

I’ve been quite the lucky one and ended up with loads of time off over Christmas and New Year. While this is wonderful, it also means I haven’t really got my act back together yet. Now that January is upon us (I’m aware I’m five days late), I seriously need to save the pennies and lose the pounds (get it?). In less uncertain terms, I’m skint and tubby. This must be addressed, not least because I have a holiday to save and be skinny for. Oh and I also need to get my job-hunt on, again. It’s quite the juggling act.

As it stands, I’m off to an alright start. I’m eBaying my life away and have sorted some more work experience. But these two things alone will not be enough. Trust me though, it’s something I’m working on.

My first look at Harper’s Bazaar, December 2011. Apparently I’m not the only one harping back to their Di Caprio in The Beach crush circa the year 2000 (it actually began in 1997 – Titanic, duhhh). Also featuring the best eye make-up I think I’ve ever seen. WANT. (Gayle, take note). And the cutest picture of Jagger. And a Bowie mullet. Standard.

My work experience has to come to what may or may not have been a fruitful end. More on that another day. But tonight I am making my return to my actual job. Not so smug now, am I? Needs must, but hopefully change is afoot. So, I have spent my last hours of denial lazing in bed this morning and then venturing out this afternoon for some shopping/trying on-in-Retro-Rehab/getting-of-essentials and then I came back to some tidying/ironing. I’m literally about to dash out of the door, back to the day job (well, evening job. Urgh.) I shall be seeing you tomorrow for fads and things.

I left the house for the first time in four days earlier. I was excited to begin with but quickly realised I’m still not one hundred per cent and that the general public are generally vile. Like the man picking and sucking his tooth behind me in a queue (apparently he didn’t notice the fact that I kept turning round to glare at him). Honestly though, are people for real? After getting the few bits I needed, I hurried straight home to snuggle back up. I may or may not have watched another episode of The Model Agency which I discovered on 4od last night. I wish I hadn’t found it. I wish there weren’t seven episodes waiting for me. I’m going to have to ration myself. It is so addictive. There’s one girl featured in the documentary who reminded me instantly of Penelope Tree. Which can only be a good thing.

Ok, I know I’m way slow off the mark here, but I remember reading recently that COS have re-opened their online store. This juicy piece of info just came back to me so I made my way there with haste. The only access I’ve ever had to COS is the small concession in Selfridges (and they never have what I want), so this online shop is tantamount to paradise-at-my-fingertips right now! Only thing is: what to choose? Here’s the short(dream)list. (I’m kidding myself that I’ve actually got money to spend.) (That’s why I’ve included socks.) (Affordable but pretty.) No but really, I want everything. They must’ve seen me coming.

I’m here! Major apologies for missing fads of the week on Sunday. Excuses are: I was down south and spent most of the day on the sofa. Nothing to do with the fact that I spent Saturday night hopping around London, of course. Catching up with lots of friends and generally indulging in a little debauchery.
