i couldn’t hear the robins sing – i just wouldn’t have a clue
I remember when I first watched the Concert for Bangladesh. I reckoned it probably didn’t get much more special than that. The Billy Preston That’s The Way God Planned It moment? Quite unbelievable. And then I remember finding this footage of Bob Dylan and George Harrison rehearsing If Not For You on the extras. I didn’t stop playing it for weeks. It’s the tentativeness that gets me, every time. And the bit where they laugh, of course. Too good.
i swam upon the devil’s lake…i’ll never make the same mistake
I write this on a rare evening off. I’m currently wading my way through a 63-hour week. It’s a pretty useful distraction though, I have to say, as I certainly need my time filling these days. I’ve got myself into a bit of a routine (well obviously – my life is one big routine, broken down into sub-routines), which includes a midday fashion fix. I mean, got to start planning for when I’m rich, right? [The image that caught my eye today is below. I don’t know who she is but she’s reppin’ that jumper and can I be her?] Meanwhile, I have also been known to treat myself to a diet coke, a coffee, five minutes on the balcony looking across the rest of the city, or a quick walk around the next-door art gallery. My headphones are a permanent fixture. Not sure what I’d do without those.
you can take a pair of my best shoes, baby walk your way out of this town
Pokey, lad. There are no words for how much I love/how many times I have watched this. Obviously I went to see them when they were in Manchester a few months ago. [According to the photo evidence it was actually in March – sorry, but where does the time go.] And they’re playing Liverpool in October. Obviously I’m going again. Guess who my favourite is. There’s a clue in the photos. His face!

but i’ve been turning over in my mind…
in the end you will know.
It’s funny, I’ve been craving this song all day. I finally listened to it on my way home from a long day and thought I must post this. Then I remembered posting about The Beatles once, vaguely touching on how big a part they play. So I looked up the post. And weirdly/sure enough, I’ve used the same song in the title. Look…here. Now I would never be so bold as to tread upon the favourites topic where this band is concerned, but I think this turn of events proves that I’ll Follow The Sun is up there. And right now, that says everything.
